St Jude's Bowral

St Jude’s Bowral is a community of Christian people who worship Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. The church exists to make and grow disciples of Jesus Christ.

We invite you to join us and discover more about him. Every Sunday of the year we gather to be reminded and encouraged from the Bible in the power of the Holy Spirit.

about

Our Mission

Jesus Christ is the risen Lord and Saviour and calls everyone to follow him.

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20).

St Jude’s exists to make and grow disciples of Jesus in the Highlands

We make disciples by declaring the gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.

We grow disciples by gathering them into churches, that they might worship and obey Jesus now and in eternity to the glory of God the Father.

We invite you to join us and discover more about Jesus.

Connecting In

At St Jude’s we have a vibrant community with events and connect groups that meet regularly and cater for the different needs of our diverse community.

In these small gatherings we seek to establish and equip each other as disciples of Jesus by encouraging one another from the Bible as we teach its word, pray for one another, and persevere in love with intentional Christian fellowship.

What a joy to share the gospel with our kids and see them share it with their friends.
St Jude's offers a variety of children's programs and events, all designed to help our children grow in their faith in and love of Jesus.

At St Jude’s Youth, we’re all about two things: making great friendships, and learning from the Bible about Jesus and his love for us. If you’re in High School, we’d love for you to come and hang out with us!

We aim to provide opportunities for our members to grow in faith, to find their place of mission, and to build community. through a range of ways

Prayer is so fundamental to the life of our church for the simple reason that God our Father is the one from whom all blessings flow. Our dependence on God, rather than our sinful self-reliance, is never more clearly expressed than in prayer.

At St Jude’s Bowral, we desire to care for each other as we experience the joys and challenges of life. The Christian Care model allows us to share God’s compassion and love to those around us, extending the grace that God has generously showered upon us in Jesus Christ.

St Jude's Articles

The Goodness of God and His Word

The goodness of God is fundamental to his character. God reveals the heart of who he is to Moses in Exodus 34. He is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. That is, at the core of his being, God is good. This means that everything God does is good, and that everything he says is good.

Pursuing Wisdom

As I was reading Ephesians 5 recently, I was struck by the kind of disciplined attention Paul calls Christians to in this chapter. Believers are to pay close attention to their lives, so that they might live wisely for the Lord, making the most of every moment. But such attentiveness to how we live can be so difficult can’t it? Life is so busy, and often we can feel like we’re just keeping our heads above water with all the responsibilities we have: work and family life, friendships, school, community events, health challenges etc. It’s far easier for us to simply drift through life, letting life pull us along so to speak.

The Unchanging Word in a Changing World

Late last year, I went to a 25 year reunion for Youthworks College. Reconnecting with old friends, I was struck by how much has changed. We're all older. There are different lecturers at college now. Hundreds of former students were there — significantly more than the 26 in my class. So much has changed!
