Blue Christmas Service

Blue Christmas Service

Wednesday 10th December, 7:00pm

in the Traditional Church Building

This service is for anyone who may be struggling to embrace joy this Christmas due to challenges in their lives - whether this be distress, financial issues, conflicts, grief, relationship breakdowns or illness. You may be feeling weary and sad over the state of the world and struggling to feel the joy of Christmas.

The service is an opportunity for people to allow for the sorrow they are feeling and to hear about the kindness of God in the midst of our mess and pain. There is great benefit in gathering together with others who have experienced difficulties as we acknowledge our sadness and be assured of God’s presence and comfort.

All are welcome.

A light supper will follow our formal time together

Toys n Tucker

Toys n Tucker

Toys n Tucker is an annual initiative run by Anglicare to support families in need during the Christmas season. Our partnership with Anglicare’s 'Toys ‘n’ Tucker' aims to share the joy of Christmas with families who would otherwise go without. Donations are distributed to local families who may be experiencing financial hardship, helping bring joy and relief during a time that can be especially tough.

Even the smallest donation can make the biggest impact!

Once again, St Jude's is partnering with Anglicare in this wonderful appeal, and will be collecting TOYS only. Donations can be brought in from 16 November - 15 December. Please bring your gifts unwrapped and put them in the basket next to the Christmas tree in the foyer. (all items to be new please)

For any questions contact the church office.

Traditional Lessons and Carols

Traditional Lessons and Carols

Please join us for a service of Traditional Lessons and Carols sung by the St Jude’s Singers on Sunday 21st December at 7:30pm.

This service was instituted by the Rt Rev’d E W Benson, Bishop of Truro, England, as a prelude to the Midnight Communion Service on Christmas Eve. In 1918 Dean Milner-White adapted the service for use in King’s College Chapel and in 1928 the BBC first broadcast the service. This service has been popular ever since.
