Mothers Union Meeting

Mothers Union Meeting

Mothers Union Bowral is part of the worldwide Mothers Union (MU), a 140 year old Christian organisation, active in 84 countries with over 4 million members (men and women) who are linked by daily prayer. MU members worldwide volunteer to run various grassroots ministries focused on meeting families at their point of need.

MU runs a variety of events and seminars throughout the year. We also gather on the first Thursday of each month at 10:00am for our regular monthly meetings.

Our next meeting is on Thursday 5th February, which will be our Commencement Service to thank God for MU and pray for the year ahead. Morning Tea will be provided after the service.

Kate Pearse will be speaking to us on the topic of:

Waiting Well

Trusting God in the uncertainties of life

We are all waiting for something – financial security, repair of a broken relationship, pregnancy, a good friend, kids to leave home, recovery from an illness, medical results, a spouse and we are all waiting for Jesus’ return. How do we wait well in these potentially stressful and uneasy times? There are countless occasions in the Bible where people experienced waiting for God and through these narratives, alongside Biblical truths, we can learn what it looks like to wait well while God does His work.

For people who would like to discuss this further, there will be a Spiritual Formation group (which is similar to a book club) meeting on a Tuesday morning, 9:30am-10:30am at the church for 5 Tuesdays - 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 March.

During this time we will discuss the short and punchy book Waiting Isn’t a Waste by Mark Vroegop. This is an excellent book that goes into further detail about “the surprising comfort of trusting God in the uncertainties of life”. For more details please speak to Kate Pearse and you can buy the book here.
