Events at St Jude's
Wednesday 18th December, 7:00pm
in the Traditional Church Building
This service is for anyone who has faced challenges this year- whether this has been, distress, pain, financial struggles, conflicts, grief, relationship breakdowns, illness, or disappointment. The service is an opportunity for people to hear about the God of love who comes to us in the midst of the mess and pain we know in our own everyday lives and the lives of those around us. There is great benefit in gathering together with others who have experienced a challenging year and we do hope that you can join us for this Blue Christmas Service.
A light supper will be served at the conclusion of our formal time together.
God is listening, God is compassionate and God brings us hope.
Please join us for a service of Traditional Lessons and Carols sung by the St Jude’s Singers on Sunday 22nd December at 7:30pm.
This service was instituted by the Rt Rev’d E W Benson, Bishop of Truro, England, as a prelude to the Midnight Communion Service on Christmas Eve. In 1918 Dean Milner-White adapted the service for use in King’s College Chapel and in 1928 the BBC first broadcast the service. This service has been popular ever since.
