Providing Life-Saving Maternal Healthcare in Africa with Guest Speaker Dr Andrew Browning AM

Providing Life-Saving Maternal Healthcare in Africa with Guest Speaker Dr Andrew Browning AM

Monday 31 August | 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Join us for an inspiring evening of hope-filled stories from maternal healthcare work on the ground in Africa, as Dr Andrew Browning AM shares about his life's work caring for some of the world's most vulnerable women.

Kindly hosted by St Jude's Anglican Church, Reverend Gavin Perkins will MC the evening, with a relaxed and insightful presentation by Dr Andrew Browning on his work as a fistula surgeon in Africa.

Dr Andrew Browning AM is an Australian obstetrician and gynaecologist who has worked in Africa for over 30 years, treating women suffering from preventable birthing injuries. He is recognised as one of the world’s leading fistula surgeons, originally having worked with renowned Australian, Dr Catherine Hamlin, for 10 years in Ethiopia.

He has helped restore the dignity of thousands of women and loves sharing their personal stories of hope and healing.

Today, through the Barbara May Foundation, Dr Andrew continues to operate on women, train surgeons around the world, and ensure vulnerable women have access to safe maternal healthcare.

This is a rare and special opportunity to hear Dr Andrew's first-hand stories of the women he's met and treated in Africa – followed by time for questions and conversation.

Doors will be open from 6.30pm with tea and coffee available, with the presentation beginning at 7pm.

All are welcome.
