ST JUDE'S BOWRAL

St Jude’s Bowral is a community of Christian people who worship Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. The church exists to make and grow disciples of Jesus Christ.

We invite you to join us and discover more about him. Every Sunday of the year we gather to be reminded and encouraged from the Bible in the power of the Holy Spirit.

about

OUR MISSION

Jesus Christ is the risen Lord and Saviour and calls everyone to follow him.

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20).

St Jude’s exists to make and grow disciples of Jesus in the Highlands

We make disciples by declaring the gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.

We grow disciples by gathering them into churches, that they might worship and obey Jesus now and in eternity to the glory of God the Father.

We invite you to join us and discover more about Jesus.

OUR MINISTRIES

At St Jude’s we have a vibrant community with events and connect groups that meet regularly and cater for the different needs of our diverse community.

In these small gatherings we seek to establish and equip each other as disciples of Jesus by encouraging one another from the Bible as we teach its word, pray for one another, and persevere in love with intentional Christian fellowship.

What a joy to share the gospel with our kids and see them share it with their friends.
St Jude's offers a variety of children's programs and events, all designed to help our children grow in their faith in and love of Jesus.

At St Jude’s Youth, we’re all about two things: making great friendships, and learning from the Bible about Jesus and his love for us. If you’re in High School, we’d love for you to come and hang out with us!

We aim to provide opportunities for our members to grow in faith, to find their place of mission, and to build community. through a range of ways

Prayer is so fundamental to the life of our church for the simple reason that God our Father is the one from whom all blessings flow. Our dependence on God, rather than our sinful self-reliance, is never more clearly expressed than in prayer.

At St Jude’s Bowral, we desire to care for each other as we experience the joys and challenges of life. The Christian Care model allows us to share God’s compassion and love to those around us, extending the grace that God has generously showered upon us in Jesus Christ.

MISSIONARY PARTNERS

The congregations of St Jude’s are actively involved with link missionary partners ministering locally, in our State, our region and further afield.

With a focus on the indigenous, cross-cultural, rural and developing world, we build relationships through financial support, prayer, visitation and communication.

St JUDE'S ARTICLES

Evangelical, Reformed, and Anglican

Clearly, there are many different types of churches and denominations of churches. In the light of Jesus’ call to unity, in some ways it is right to be saddened by this reality. The divisions between churches are often over minor matters that ought not to create such separation. Although some of those divisions are simply the result of different histories or patterns of immigration and healthy fellowship continues between Christians across those denominations (as we certainly have in the Highlands).

Out of Control at Christmas

We like to have things under control. We like to be in control of our own destiny. Many of us, because of the advantages that birth, education and prosperity have given us, can, for a while, live with the illusion that we are in control. But we all know how easily that sense of control can come crumbling down.

God is Close to the Broken-Hearted

Looking around the congregation on Sunday, the statistics tell me that in a congregation of 50 people, 10 people will be struggling with mental health challenges. Throughout October, if you watch ABC TV or spend any time on social media, you’re going to know about Mental Health Month. Unfortunately, being a Christian, and going to church, doesn’t make us immune from issues with mental health.

Reading Chronicles Today

I am yet to meet someone who has Chronicles as their favourite book in the Bible. If that’s you, come and say ‘hello’! In fact, many lifelong Christians have never read the book, and even fewer have heard a sermon series on Chronicles.
